Microsoft heeft 31 december 2018 bekend gemaakt dat veel oude Microsoft certificeringen gaan verdwijnen. Dit gaat om een groot deel van de MCSA en MCSE certificeringen. De Microsoft certificeringen welke hiervoor in de plaats zijn gekomen zullen role-based zijn en meer gericht op specifieke werkvelden, waardoor deze beter aan zullen sluiten op de arbeidsmarkt.
Tot op heden zijn er op het gebied van Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Security, Compliance & Identity en Microsoft Dynamics 365 certificeringen uitgerold. Naar verwachting zullen meer role-based Microsoft certificeringen hun intreden doen dit jaar.

Security, Compliance and Identity
The Microsoft Security Operations Analyst collaborates with organizational stakeholders to secure information technology systems for the organization. Their goal is to reduce organizational risk by rapidly remediating active attacks in the environment, advising on improvements to threat protection practices, and referring violations of organizational policies to appropriate stakeholders.
The Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator designs, implements, and operates an organization’s identity and access management systems by using Azure AD. They manage tasks such as providing secure authentication and authorization access to enterprise applications. The administrator provides seamless experiences and self-service management capabilities for all users. Adaptive access and governance are core elements to the role. This role is also responsible for troubleshooting, monitoring, and reporting for the identity and access environment.
The Information Protection Administrator plans and implements controls that meet organizational compliance needs. This person is responsible for translating requirements and compliance controls into technical implementation. They assist organizational control owners to become and stay compliant.
Prove you understand the core capabilities of the Power Platform–from business value and core product capabilities to building a simple Power Apps canvas app, connecting data sources, automating basic business processes with Power Automate, creating a Power BI dashboard, and creating powerful chatbots with Power Virtual Agents.
Data Analysts enable businesses to maximize the value of their data assets by using Microsoft Power BI. As a subject matter expert, Data Analysts are responsible for designing and building scalable data models, cleaning and transforming data, and enabling advanced analytic capabilities that provide meaningful business value through easy-to-comprehend data visualizations.
The app maker builds solutions to simplify, automate, and transform tasks and processes for themselves and their team where they have deep expertise in the solution domain. They are skilled in key technical business analyst tasks such as data modeling, basic UX design, requirements analysis, and process analysis.
The Power Platform Functional Consultant must have broad applied knowledge of the Power Platform, including practical understanding of capabilities, boundaries, and constraints. They should have experience using Power Platform maker tools to create solutions that use the Power Platform and Microsoft 365. Certified Functional Consultants should have proficiency in data modeling, user experience design, requirements analysis, and process analysis.
You fit the profile for a Power BI Data Analyst Associate if you have a fundamental understanding of data repositories and data processes, both on-premises and in the cloud. You’re also a subject matter expert who enables organizations to maximize the value of their data assets by using Power BI. Your responsibilities include designing and building scalable data models, cleaning and transforming data, and enabling advanced analytic capabilities that provide meaningful business value. You also collaborate with key stakeholders across verticals to deliver relevant insights based on identified business requirements.
Candidates for the Microsoft Power Platform Developer Associate certification design, develop, secure, and troubleshoot Power Platform solutions. They implement components of the solution that include application enhancements, custom user experience, system integrations, data conversions, custom process automation, and custom visualizations.
If you’re a developer with a keen interest in providing automated solutions for your organization, this certification could be a great fit for you. You know how to automate time-consuming and repetitive tasks by using Microsoft Power Automate. You review solution requirements, create process documentation, and design, develop, troubleshoot, and evaluate solutions. Working with business stakeholders, you help to improve and automate business workflows. And you collaborate with administrators to deploy solutions to production environments and to support solutions.
As a candidate for the Power Platform Solution Architect Expert certification, you work with stakeholders and focus on solutions that affect your organization’s broad business and technical needs. You have functional and technical knowledge of Power Platform, Dynamics 365 customer engagement apps, related Microsoft cloud solutions, and third-party technologies. For this certification, you need a minimum of 1 to 3 years as a Power Platform solution architect or 7 to 10 years as a senior consultant or developer, along with deep knowledge of Power Platform architecture.
Candidates for the Azure Stack Hub Operator Associate certification are Azure administrators or Azure Stack Hub operators who provide cloud services to end users or customers from within their own datacenter using Azure Stack Hub.
Their responsibilities are to plan, deploy, package, update, and maintain the Azure Stack Hub infrastructure. They also offer hybrid cloud resources and requested services and manage infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS).
Candidates for the Azure Network Engineer Associate certification should have subject matter expertise in planning, implementing, and maintaining Azure networking solutions, including hybrid networking, connectivity, routing, security, and private access to Azure services.
Responsibilities for this role include recommending, planning, and implementing Azure networking solutions. Professionals in this role manage the solutions for performance, resiliency, scale, and security.
Candidates for this certification administer core and advanced Windows Server workloads and services using on-premises, hybrid, and cloud technologies. These professionals should have expertise in implementing and managing on-premises and hybrid solutions, such as identity, management, compute, networking, and storage. They are also experts at performing tasks related to security, migration, monitoring, high availability, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery. These professionals use administrative tools and technologies, including Windows Admin Center, PowerShell, Azure Arc, and IaaS virtual machine administration. They also work with Azure Automation Update Management, Microsoft Defender for Identity, Azure Security Center, Azure Migrate, and Azure Monitor.
The Azure Database Administrator implements and manages the operational aspects of cloud-native and hybrid data platform solutions built on Microsoft Azure data services and Microsoft SQL Server. The Azure Database Administrator uses a variety of methods and tools to perform day-to-day operations, including applying knowledge of using T-SQL for administrative management purposes.Prove that you understand cloud concepts, core Azure Services, Azure pricing and support, and the fundamentals of cloud security, privacy, compliance, and trust.
Responsibilities for this role include performing advanced data analytics at scale, such as cleaning and transforming data, designing and building enterprise data models, incorporating advanced analytics capabilities, integrating with IT infrastructure, and applying development lifecycle practices.
Prove that you understand how to implement the Azure services that form an IoT solution, including data analysis, data processing, data storage options, and platform-as-a-service options. IoT Developers must be able to recognize Azure IoT service configuration settings within the code portion of an IoT solution.
Candidates for the Windows Virtual Desktop Specialty certification are Microsoft Azure administrators with subject matter expertise in planning, delivering, and managing virtual desktop experiences and remote apps, for any device, on Azure.
Responsibilities for this role include deploying virtual desktop experiences and apps to Azure. Professionals in this role deliver applications on Windows Virtual Desktop and optimize them to run in multi-session virtual environments. To deliver these experiences, they work closely with Azure administrators and architects, along with Microsoft 365 administrators.
Candidates for the Azure Support Engineer for Connectivity Specialty certification are support engineers with subject matter expertise in using advanced troubleshooting methods to resolve networking and connectivity issues in Azure.
Professionals in this role troubleshoot hybrid environments, including issues with Azure Virtual Machines, virtual networks, and connectivity between on-premises and Azure services. They use various tools and technologies to diagnose and identify root causes for complex issues.
Microsoft 365 Teamwork Administrators configure, deploy, and manage Office 365 workloads that focus on efficient and effective collaboration, such as SharePoint (online, on-premises, and hybrid), OneDrive, and Teams.Microsoft 365.*
Microsoft 365 Developers design, build, test, and maintain applications and solutions that are optimized for the productivity and collaboration needs of organizations using the Microsoft 365 platform.
Microsoft 365 Developers are proficient in the Microsoft identity and Microsoft Graph. They have general knowledge on UI elements (including Adaptive Cards and UI Fabric), Integration Points (including Microsoft Teams, Office Add-ins, SharePoint Framework, Actionable Messages), and determining workload platform targets.
Collaboration communications systems engineers have a fundamental understanding of networking, telecommunications, audio/visual and meeting room technologies, and identity and access management. They are proficient in managing and monitoring Teams Phone, meetings, and certified devices by using the Microsoft Teams admin center, PowerShell, the Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management portal, and the Microsoft Call Quality Dashboard. They deploy and configure Teams Phone with PSTN connectivity through Teams Calling Plans, Operator Connect, Teams Phone Mobile, and Direct Routing.
Microsoft Teams Administrators configure, deploy, and manage Office 365 workloads for Microsoft Teams that focus on efficient and effective collaboration and communication in an enterprise environment.
